The Concierge Desk: you study, we handle the landing.

Moving countries for a degree is two projects in one — the studies, and the move. At LIBS, the second one has a dedicated team.

Most schools hand admitted international students a checklist. LIBS assigns them a Concierge Desk — a single point of contact that walks with you from the admission letter to your first week of class in Lyon.

What the Concierge Desk covers

Student visa

Guidance through the French student-visa procedure step by step, from your admission letter to your arrival — so you always know what to prepare next, and when.

Housing before arrival

Help identifying and securing student housing in Lyon — residence, studio or flatshare — before you board the plane, not after.

Bank account & paperwork

Assistance opening a French bank account and handling the administrative steps every newcomer faces in the first weeks.

Arrival & onboarding

A planned first week: campus, neighbourhood, transport, and the practical rhythms of student life in Lyon.

French from day one

The Desk connects you into the free French (FLE) classes that run alongside every program.

One contact, in English

Every exchange in English, with one identified contact — no bouncing between offices.

Why we built it

Because the first semester of an international student is usually decided by logistics, not lectures. A student who lands with housing solved, a bank account opening and a clear visa file can put all their energy where it belongs: the degree. That is the LIBS bet, and the reason the Concierge Desk is part of the offer rather than an option.

How it works, concretely

The Desk activates once you are admitted. You receive a personal onboarding plan matched to your situation — where you apply from, whether you need a visa, when your intake starts. Then it proceeds step by step, in writing, so nothing depends on a phone call you might miss. Questions between steps go to your contact and get answered.

The Concierge Desk is included for international students admitted to LIBS programs — see the programs and how admission works.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Concierge Desk included or paid separately?

It is part of the LIBS offer for admitted international students. The exact scope for your situation is confirmed in writing with your admission.

Does the Concierge Desk guarantee a visa?

No one can guarantee a visa — decisions belong to the French authorities. The Desk makes sure your file is complete, coherent and submitted the right way, which is everything a school can honestly do.

Can the Desk find me housing?

It helps you identify, choose and secure student housing before arrival. You remain the tenant and make the final choice.

I am already in Europe — is it still useful?

Yes, in a lighter form: housing, bank, onboarding. If you already hold a residence permit in a European country, start with the dedicated page for students already in Europe.
