Searching for a “BBA marketing” or “BBA finance”? Fair — that's how most schools package their bachelors. Before you pick a lane at 18, here is the question worth three minutes: do you know enough about business yet to know which specialisation is yours?
The two models, honestly compared
| Specialised BBA from year 1 | Generalist core, later specialisation (LIBS) | |
|---|---|---|
| Best if… | You are CERTAIN of your field — and right about it | You want to decide with knowledge, not guesswork |
| Risk | Discovering in year 2 that finance isn't you — pivoting costs time | A less “specialised” label at bachelor level |
| Reality check | Most 18-year-olds have never seen a P&L, a campaign brief or a supply contract | You meet marketing, finance AND digital before choosing — then go deep in the Mastère |
What the LIBS bachelor actually covers
The Bachelor in International Business is the generalist model, in English: management, international marketing and trade, digital business, intercultural communication across three years — the working core of every business specialisation, met for real before you commit to one. Specialisation then happens where it changes careers: in year 3 projects and in the 2-year Mastère (global strategy, international marketing, entrepreneurship, cross-cultural management).
If you already know your lane
Genuinely certain about marketing or finance? Then a specialised program elsewhere may serve you well — we won't pretend otherwise. Our honest pitch is for the majority who aren't certain: three years to learn the whole game in English, in an international cohort, and a specialisation chosen with open eyes. Tell an advisor where you stand — the answer, as always here, comes in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Does LIBS offer a BBA marketing or BBA finance?
Not as separate first-year tracks. The Bachelor in International Business covers marketing, finance fundamentals and digital business for everyone, with specialisation deepening in year 3 and above all in the Mastère.
Is a generalist bachelor weaker on the job market?
For a first job, employers test fundamentals, languages and internships more than a bachelor's specialisation label. Deep specialisation belongs to the graduate level — where ours happens.
Can I orient my projects toward my favourite field?
Yes — year 3 applied projects and your internships are where your emerging specialisation takes shape, with faculty guidance.
What if I'm sure about my specialisation already?
Say so in your application — an advisor will tell you honestly, in writing, whether our program fits your plan or not.
Not sure which lane is yours?
That's exactly who this bachelor is built for. Ask us anything — answers in writing.
